Very Important Update from Lois

Oct. 6, 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

I know that everyone is concerned about how I am doing.  The Lord is strengthening me day by day and I am doing all right.  Tomorrow is Hoyt's funeral and burial.  Please pray for the Lord to give me strength to get through that.

In Kenya, when someone dies, everyone who knows you comes and visits and you give them tea and bread in the morning, lunch, and tea and bread in the afternoon.  Our son's wives and the pastor's wives have been coming daily to cook and serve all the people. Several days there were over one hundred visitors.

The ladies all carry baskets of maize (corn), beans, and bread to help feed the many people.  It has been fun, but very tiring as some come in the evening too. (Those coming from work)

I am writing about a concern to ask you to pray.  One of the pastors at a large local church (not ours) was notified by the government that a terrorist group is planning to bomb sixteen area churches.  We were told to take the warning seriously.  Therefore, we are also concerned about the funeral.  The police are providing security at both the college and home and will also be patrolling by car.  We are expecting over one thousand people.

We have slaughtered a bull and are in the process of cooking for everyone.  This is custom and the guys are very strict that "dad" be given the honor due him.

Pray also that God will be glorified and many saved.

Blessings and Love, Lois, Shad and the others.

Note from Sue: Many of you have written asking for Lois' email address so that you can contact her directly.  It is:  hoytholo@gmail.com. She would love to hear from you and has so enjoyed all the notes I have forwarded to her. Be blessed-  Sue
