Update on Madison Edwards - Thanks be to God!

Prayer of Thanksgiving Prayers of thanksgiving for Madison Edwards, who   underwent surgery last week for her back. As well as being able to sit up, today she stood up for the first time and walked a little.  The surgery has corrected her spine and added 4 inches to her height.  The family would like to thank God for this miracle and everyone for the their prayers.

Healing and Comfort

E-Prayer Prayers of thanksgiving for Robert Kruger who has been on our church bulletin  cancer prayer list. Robert was pronounced clear of Hodgkins lymphoma after completing his chemo treatments. He returned to his work in  law enforcement this week.  Please keep his father, Bob Kruger, in your prayers because his recurring brain cancer is inoperable at this point.  Their family believes in the power of prayer and asks us to continue lifting them up to The Lord.  Blessings.

Called Home

E-Prayer At 11:00pm on June 19, 2013 Melody McKersie Saldate was called home after a long battle with cancer. Her passing was peaceful and we would pray for the family at this time to help ease their pain from this loss as she is in a much better place. God Bless

First Tour

Love for Heroes Dear Friend, E-Prayers for PFC Jesus Espinosa   I saw you article in the San Lorenzo HOA News Letter. My Son-in-law just  left for Afghanistan yesterday, this is his first tour, and he has been in  the Army for about 18 months. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I was able to provide a lot of personnel insight as I recently spent a year there as well, but as a Mom I will still be concerned for his safety. My daughters name is Shelby and my hopes and prayers are that they both remain strong during his deployment and that he returns safely.    V/R  SFC Kathy Vargas Calvary Lutheran Church   Please continue to pray for all those who serve our country. E-Prayer Please pray for Johelen Crookshank, sister of my co-worker. She has been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for a very long time and was recently released by the doctors who said that she has a few days left to live. Please pray also for her family. E-Prayers for Virginia

E-Prayer Dear Friend,     Hi again.  My family and I just spent a few hours visiting Mom (Virginia). She is now two days post-surgery and doing well. She looks good and doesn't seem to have too much pain. She still has a nerve block that infuses local anesthetic, so I don't know if her pain level will increase when they remove it. She has been up walking with the physical therapists and the plan is to transfer to a rehab facility tomorrow mid-day. She is her usual cheerful self and her granddaughters helped polish off her extra Saltine crackers and grapes (though her appetite is back to normal already).   The facility she will be moving to is Washington Care and Rehab, 14766 Washington Ave, San Leandro, CA 94578. Phone # 510-352-2211 She will probably be there for about 5-7 days, but could stay longer if needed. One of the primary goals in the rehab is to make sure patients are at a low risk for falls when they leave.  Dad (Bill) is surviving, too, though he did confess that he just had ice cream for dinner last night (which should not surprise any of us).  They both send their love and appreciation for the thoughts and prayers.  Love, Mary

E-Prayer Dear Friend,   Please keep Tyler Skjong in your prayers tonight.  Tyler was in our kindergarten class this year and he was in Calvary Club today when he was hurt playing on the preschool playground. His arm is broken or dislocated and doctors are deciding within the next few hours whether to perform surgery.  Please pray for Tyler, his family and wisdom for his doctors.

Healing and Speedy Recovery

E-Prayer Dear Friend, Please keep Jan in your prayers at this time. Her heart is doing great however she is dealing with kidney stones as well. She has had stints placed and will be undergoing laser treatment on Friday 6/14 for the stones. Please pray for a speedy recovery as she is hoping to see everyone on Sunday at church. Also please keep Virginia in your prayers as she has undergone hip surgery and is recovering quite well and will be released to go home later this week.

House Fire

E-Prayer Dear Friend,   Please keep Dave & Marlene in your prayers - the house caught on fire tonight.  It started in the garage and was put out pretty fast.  House not in livable condition so they will need all your prayers to get through it. Thank god no one was hurt.   Gina & Gary

For Madison and her Family

E-Prayer Dear Friend,   Please pray for my friends Krystal Thorne and Brennan Edwards, their daughter Madison (an 11 year old student at Calvary) will be having back surgery scheduled for June 24th.  They are all in need of faith, strength and courage during these trying times.  Wisdom, knowledge and steady hands for the doctors.  Madison has struggled since day 1 for life, she had open heart surgery before she was 24 hours old.  The Lord has amazing plans for this precious little angel, she is now in need of our prayers for faith and comfort since this is a new experience all together.  Please keep the whole family in your prayers but Madison really needs to feel His loving arms wrapped around her at this time.  Thank you!
