Prayers for Marv Soares Family

loss_11472
I am saddened to inform my family at Calvary that Marvin passed away last week. I would ask for prayers of comfort for our entire family; it was sudden and unexpected. I know Marvin is with his Lord in heaven. Not all my family shares such beliefs and it is harder for them.
Below is the obituary which will be in papers tomorrow
Blessings

Obituary of Marvin Lewis Soares

Marvin Lewis Soares of Livermore, 67, passed peacefully in his sleep on November 11, 2015.  A native of Oakland, born on February 10, 1948, he was the only child of Mary and Lewis Soares. He was honorably discharged from the US Army including a tour in Vietnam. Marvin's combined 34 year career in law enforcement included the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, Fremont Police, and retiring from Union City Police in 2006. Marvin was an avid fisherman, fanatic of the Blue Angels, and a fierce patriot.

Marvin was greatly loved, "adopted" into many families including the Costa and Troya families, and will be missed by many, including his lifetime friend Pete Levecchio and special friend Antoinette Troya.  Special thanks go to Drs. Efron and Sadur of Kaiser Permanente for providing him such excellent care these past six years.

Services will be held on November 21 at 1pm at Chapel of the Chimes – Mission Chapel at 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Viewing will be available Friday November 20 from 5:00 9pm.
US Military Honor Guard service will be conducted at his service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Union City Police Explorers Program or to the National Brain Tumor Society - braintumor.org
