Prayers for Bob Dailey

Bob Dailey Update

Beach Sunset

Dad was successfully extubated Saturday morning and, of course, we were ecstatic.  His voice was rough and difficult to understand but he talked (and ordered us around:) for much of the day.  Asked about his backhoe and other important ranch information.  He quieted as the day went by and dozed off and on.  When we arrived on Sunday morning he was sluggish and made fewer attempts to speak and did not track well with his eyes for any length of time; appeared stroke-like That has continued too the present.  An MRI of the brain was completed last night and was clear with no sign of a stroke.  His physician believes he is just incredibly weak due to the staff infection in his heart.  He presently is having a hard time clearing his secretions (coughing up anything) and is unable to swallow.  The staff is working hard now on freeing up mucus and doing deep suctioning.  Otherwise, the next step would be to put him on a ventilator again and put in a feeding tube both of which he has made VERY clear he would not want.  So, we wait and pray......
